At a glance:

Make the transition from cot to bed more comfortable for your little one with East Coast Nursery's Dakota Toddler Bed. It's been carefully designed and thoroughly tested to ensure your little one is sleeping in a stylish, comfortable and safe bed!

How did this product make your life easier?

Sian: Since using this bed my son has been able to feel like a big boy just like his older sister. He enjoys going into bed at night which makes bedtime that little bit easier. He now asks to sit in bed in the day time. It's also easier to now put bedding on as it's not difficult to manoeuvre around the bed.

Jade: This bed makes my life easier as a mum as my son is now in a big boy bed (as he says so he's like his big brother.) He sleeps a lot longer and seems a lot comfier now as he kept getting his feet stuck in the bars and now it is easier for him to get in and out of.

Claire: This is a wonderful item. It’s so sturdy (even for a two-year-old who likes to bounce on her bed.) The Dakota toddler bed has given my little girl the confidence to climb into bed on her own and settle to sleep without the confines of a cot. Bedtime is definitely easier since switching to the Dakota toddler bed.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Jade: I would definitely recommend the Dakota toddler bed - it is ideal for your child's first toddler bed from a cot as it's nice and low and easy for them to get in and out of. It's nice, sturdy and solid. I love that it's plain white so it will go with the whole room and I like the little sign at the end of the bed. It is also really affordable at £79.99.

Vicky: I would definitely recommend the Dakota bed to other parents it is really easy to put together taking me only twenty minutes and it feels sturdy and looks great in the room. Knowing your child is safe in bed will put parents' minds at rest and children will feel more independent by being able to get in and out of bed with ease.

Hayley: I would recommend this bed, I think it is great value for money, and it is strong and easy to assemble. It only took thirty to fourty minutes to put the bed together on my own and I only needed a cross head and flat head screwdriver. The short sidebars still made it feel like a big girl bed for my daughter while there was still the safety of the bars there.

Would you choose this product to win?

Sian: For a cheap version of a toddler bed yes I would pick this as a simple and cheap bed. Most toddler beds can be bulky and difficult to assemble but this was perfect. Although it's a simple design it would easily fit into any decor bedroom also. One thing that makes it stand out is how easy it was to assemble.

Cate: If I had to choose a toddler bed and wanted to pay £79 then I would go for this product as it does what I expect it to do. It is just a simple model so if you want something that is more “bells and whistles” then this product doesn’t really have anything fancy. Some parents look for beds that “grow” with their children, this product doesn’t.

Hayley: I like that I was able to put the bed together by myself in such a short amount of time. I think it is great value for money, I would be happy to pay a little more for it. It is very strong and sturdy. I like that it is low and my daughter can get in and out of the bed herself, making her feel like a big girl like her older sisters. The instructions were very easy to follow and very clear.

What changes would you make to this product?

Jade: The only thing I would change about the Dakota toddler bed is the wooden bars on each side of the bed. I would make them a little bit longer, only because my son moves down the bed when he sleeps, so I would make them at least halfway down the bed. But I really do like this bed.

Sukhera: I feel that products that offer multiple uses are a better value for your money. I would, therefore, make the bed have an additional function such as being able to adjust size/height. At present, I think it has only limited short term use as one could easily buy a bigger bed straight away for a toddler with a side rail which would probably work out as a more cost-effective option.

Charlotte: The product is great value for money, however, I did feel that the wood felt a little bit flimsy in some places. It supports my daughter absolutely fine, and I have no worries for her safety, I just think that some parts of it could be better made. This may just be me expecting too much as this is, of course, a very reasonably priced bed.
