At a glance:

“The Quilted Coco Mat Cot Mattress is handmade in Devon using entirely organic materials which are naturally breathable and self-ventilating, which are perfect for a toddler mattress. This helps baby regulate their body temperature for a comfortable night's sleep. Organic certified coir (coconut fibre) is used for its natural support and breathability with organic lambswool from Soil Association certified farms to provide softness and insulation. Ideal for babies that suffer from allergies and asthma, the children's mattress is naturally anti-dust mite, chemical-free, non-toxic and naturally fire retardant. Comes with a removable 100% pure cotton cover machine washable at 60°C to keep the mattress clean and healthy.” This product also features in our list of the best cot mattresses.

How did this product make your life easier?

Jasmine: This is an excellent mattress. Before using this one I would lay a duvet over the top to provide extra comfort and I didn’t need to with this mattress. My daughter has slept really well since using this mattress, she would toss and turn for quite a while trying to get comfortable but now she snuggles down and goes straight to sleep.

Carolyn: This mattress came well packaged and easy to unwrap and install without too much mess. The mattress has one very supportive side for newborns and a more springy side for older children. Both sides seem to be extremely comfortable and my son sleeps very well on either side. The removable outer cover is washable at 60`C, ideal for accidents or vomits. The mattress cover is not waterproof and so needs an extra cover purchasing. This product is extremely convenient in that it can be used for children from birth upwards. The all-natural materials are reassuring and will definitely appeal to the more eco-conscious consumer. This product is comfortable and easy to clean.

Sam: Such a lovely mattress. I love that one side is tailored for babies and the other for growing toddlers, which saves the need to purchase another mattress as my baby grows and her needs change. The machine washable cover is essential and it is easy enough to remove and refit once clean. The cover is also breathable and self-ventilating, which in this recent hot weather has been excellent.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Kirsteen: This mattress is of good quality. It is deep for added comfort and feels so comfortable when you press down. There is an option of flipping the mattress to a softer or firmer side depending on the age and developmental stage of the baby. The mattress is very heavy so I needed two of us to lift the mattress into the cot.

Hollie: I would recommend this product as it seems high quality and long-lasting. It’s very soft and springy making it comfortable to sleep on. The mattress itself fits nicely into our cot and when my baby slept on it they seemed to have a very restful and peaceful night's sleep. This mattress is a very good quality product.

Stephanie: I reviewed the Natural mat Quilted Spring Mattress. I would recommend this product to a fellow mum or friend as the quality is excellent and is made from 100% natural materials. It fits perfectly into a standard cot. The depth is quite thick which means if used on the top setting of a cot the baby is near the top.

Would you choose this product to win?

Saiqah: I haven't really tried any other products apart from Mothercare's brand. This is so much better in terms of quality, comfort, and durability. This mattress is very similar to my orthopedic mattress and I'm sure its durability will be equally the same. I would definitely choose this product on the market.

Libby: I love the fact that this company promotes the natural materials used in their mattresses and why these have been selected. For instance, a layer of West Country wool to help breathability and reduce overheating. I have not seen this feature in other similar mattresses. Another special feature is that one side is firmer than the other so that the firmer side can be used for younger babies (fitting with safe sleep guidance) and the other side is able to give more support for older children.

Sarah: I think this product is of high quality and that it should win this category. It has all the features that are important to me when looking to provide my child with the best possible night's sleep including breathability, free from chemicals-toxins, hypoallergenic and a cover made from organic cotton with a removable and washable cover.

What changes would you make to this product?

Stephanie: The only criticism I have about the natural mat quilted spring mattress is the thickness of the mattress. It means that the standard cot bed sheet doesn't fit quite as neatly around the mattress and slip off easier. I bought deeper sheets that fixed the issue but if it was slightly thinner it would be perfect.

Kirsteen: It is very heavy and took two of us to carry into the bedroom and placed it in the cot. If my baby wets the bed, it is very difficult to flip the mattress due to its weight. Apart from this, I can't fault the mattress. It is beautifully made and comfortable. My baby seems very content on it and it will last him a while!

Hollie: I wouldn’t change anything about this product as I was completely happy with it and how well my baby slept on it made me believe in it as a product 100 percent. I would recommend to any new parents looking to buy a new cot mattress as I was so happy with the quality, thickness, and softness of this product.
