The Snuz Surface Pro Duo Cot Mattress was tested by Mother&Baby's Senior Digital Writer, Samantha Ball.

Over the last couple of weeks, my daughter has decided that she no longer likes to sleep in her bed and wakes up frequently at night. At first, I presumed she was maybe going through a growth spurt or the room was light due to the brighter mornings and nights, however after using the Snuzpod mattress for one night, I found that she actually slept through and maybe it was the cot mattress that was the issue after all!

Testing the Snuz Surface Pro Duo Cot Mattress

The Snuzpod is smaller than your standard cotbed size and is more suited to the mini cots you can buy, so it's worth checking the measurements before you purchase, but otherwise it fits perfectly snug on the cot frame and doesn't leave any awkward gaps, which is reassuring that my daughter can sleep safely without having to worry about her falling into a gap between the mattress and frame.

It also comes with a waterproof cover, which is handy for any leaks, and while we've not had to wash it yet it is pretty easy to remove. It will be interesting to see how well it goes back on after, as I've found the mattress we currently have can be quite tricky to zip back on! It's been quite warm recently too, and I've found my daughter doesn't seem as warm when I check on her, and she's not getting clammy when sleeping on her back. I think this is down to the breathability of the mattress, as it has ventilation on the top cover.

The Snuzpod is also incredibly soft to the touch, which just adds to the comfort factor. My daughter has slept through three nights in a row since beginning to test the mattress, and any time she has woken up she's been more than happy to get back into her own bed rather than protesting like she has done previously.

So far, the mattress seems like it will last awhile as I haven't noticed any dents forming from where my daughter sleeps, and it so far also passes the bounce test, and is springing when she jumps on it.

Final Verdict

I'd recommended this mattress as it is good value for money considering it can last in your little ones cot from birth up to the age of four years, however you would need a bigger size mattress if you had a standard size cot bed, as this is only suited for the mini-cot versions that measure 160cm in length.
