I'm a dad of a 14 month old and we needed a swimming float that would support our daughter when conducting swimming lessons. We tested the product while we were on a swimming lesson within the UK. Our daughter already attends swimming lessons and is comfortable in water but we wanted a swimming vest in order for her to practice her swimming without compromising on safety whilst also having fun! We tested the swim vest in an indoor swimming pool within the UK.

Testing the Gogokids Children Swim Vest

The vest is available in a wide range of colours and designs - perfect for all kids. It is available in 3 different sizes S (1-3 years),M (3-6 years) and L (6-9 years) . The design of the product is practical and the materials used are premium. It also has a crotch strap which is good for making the vest more secure on your child and it also has a carry handle which is great for lifting in and out of the water if needed. Getting our daughter into the swim vest was quite easy and the adjustments that you can make on the strapping are again easy to make.

The first point to be aware of though is that if you are buying this for a 1 year old it is likely to be too big, we found that because the sizing of the small vest caters for 1-3 years the likelihood of the vest fitting a smaller 1 year old is minimal - perhaps this vest is more suitable for 2 years upwards. The second point to also be aware of is because of the way the stitching is created on the shoulders it can rub and annoy your child - the simple answer to this is to put something on underneath to minimise the rubbing. The buoyancy of the product is fantastic and works really well.

Final verdict

This product felt like good value for money but i would find it more suitable for a child 2 years+.
