Testing the Konfidence Floatsuit

I’m a father of one, my daughter Iris is 22 months old and has been swimming regularly since she was 6 months old, including lessons. Mum is a primary school teacher, and we enjoy swimming as a family at the weekend.

As a family, we were able to test the Konfidence Floatsuit with your daughter, Iris. We took her swimming in the floatsuit twice in two different pools, one a basic swim pool and the other a water park, to see how she coped with it in different scenarios. Despite having lessons as a child, Iris has gained some nervousness swimming of late, and we hoped the floatsuit might alleviate some of this worry.

The floatsuit is a great option for parents who want to help build up their child’s confidence whilst ensuring their safety in the water.

The Konfidence Floatsuit went on without any issues or fuss. It did look a little big on the top when we initially put it on. When in the water, the fit was far better, and it wasn’t unduly buoyant or overwhelming for my daughter, and she seemed comfortable in the floatsuit right away whilst held.

The only real issue was around the size of the floats on the front. When my daughter wanted to reach out she was a bit restricted on arm movement in the water as the floats lifted under her arms. Otherwise, the size of the product was absolutely fine.

Her lack of confidence meant we weren’t able to test her floating alone too much but she was able to swim a little bit in this without restriction. We were also able to let her walk in the shallower end of the pool with water up to the floats without any concern. I had no safety concerns from our usage but if our daughter was swimming more on our own I think the size of the floats may be an issue to a smaller child.

The floatsuit was also really easy to clean, the floats slip straight out and are easy to put back in.

The cost of this wasn’t much more than a traditional swimsuit, so I would say it is good value for money, at least to try and see if this gives your child more confidence.

Final Verdict

Overall I found the floatsuit to be of good design and structure, easy to put on and easy to clean. It offered my daughter some additional support in the water, which she needed because she struggles for water confidence, but the floats are a little too large for a smaller child to be really comfortable in it.
