Testing the LAYCOL Baby Swimming Float

We tested the product while we were on a family holiday in Cyprus. Our daughter already attends swimming lessons and is comfortable in water but we wanted a swimming float in order for her to practice her swimming without compromising on safety whilst also having fun! We tested the float in a kids pool within a waterpark area.

The float is available in a wide range of colours and designs - perfect for all kids. It comes with a hand pump to inflate but we found this difficult to use so decided to pump it up the old fashioned way which was again quite difficult - you have to make sure you seal the plugs quickly or you will lose air. Once it was constructed it looked and felt really good and our daughter was keen to use it instantly!

Our daughter refused to wear a hat whilst in the sun so we found that the shade was of real use - great coverage and protection and even in 38 degrees of heat was still not hot to touch. The design of the product is practical and the materials used are quite soft but even in the sun the product didn't lose any air or deflate at all. Getting our daughter into the float was quite easy although it may need 2 of you if they like to kick their legs a lot as the leg holes are quite small.

The product allows for 2 different positions - sat up and laid down. The float has an extra float on the front for them to hold onto providing extra safety and it naturally puts them in the swimming position which is great and she started zooming around the pool in it in no time! In the sit up position their is a strap to keep the child held in position again for added safety.

With that said I felt comfortable letting her use the float on her own in the laid down position but not so much in the sat up position as I felt she could have toppled when moving her weight around - this may be down to the fact that we had a too bigger size for her weight/age. The product was easy to clean and wipe down, seemed like it was extremely durable and felt like it would last for years - it also comes with a small puncture repair kit which was a nice touch but I doubt you would ever need it!

Final verdict

This product felt like good value for money and I would probably purchase it again and recommend to others.
