Testing the Zoggs Swim Jacket

I recently tested the Zoggs swim vest with my 3-year-old, and I have to say, it really impressed me! Safety is my top concern, and this vest delivered. My little boy felt secure splashing around in the pool, which gave me peace of mind. It keeps him afloat, he also easily leans forward to help practice swimming. The fit is good—no big gaps or tight spots—so he’s comfortable and happy to wear it, which is a win for toddlers!

The vest feels durable, with solid stitching and strong material that looks like it will last through many swim sessions and hopefully be passed down to younger cousins when he's outgrown it.

One slight drawback is that this vest doesn’t have removable floats, unlike the Splash About vest we had before this. With that vest we could take the floats out one at a time as my child became more confident. This feature would’ve been nice for gradual progression but while he’s still gaining confidence in the water, this Zoggs vest is reassuring for both us, as parents, and him.

Carrying it to the pool is easy since it’s lightweight, though it’s a tad bulky so it’s worth considering that if you have to travel by public transport or you’re taking it on holiday (this is a feature of all swim vests though, and not having to blow it up at the pool saves time). Putting it on and taking it off is super simple, thanks to the large zip.

Final verdict

Overall, I highly recommend this swim vest. It’s safe, comfy, and durable—definitely a great choice for little swimmers!
