What was the toy that you couldn’t wait to get your hands on as a child?
As this generation’s obsession with loom bands continues to gather pace, a new survey has looked at the most popular toys and accessories from the past three decades. Can you guess the toys that came top?
Over 3,000 British adults were polled as part of the research, carried out by GoneDigging.co.uk, with an even men and women who were 10 years old during the 80s, 90s or 00s.

Children of the 80s played with the popular water guns Supersoakers (63%) Glo Worms (52%), Pogo Balls (46%) and Care Bears (44%), but the top toy of the decade was the pastel-pretty My Little Pony (67%), which even had a spin off cartoon.

The Nineties were all about new technology, with Tamogotchi’s coming top with 81% of the vote, closely followed by Polly Pocket, with 64%, Doodle Bears coming third with 62% of the vote and Personalised Headbands (59%) and Pokemon Cards (54%) also making the top five.

Dance mats are dominated the childhoods of the latest generation of kids, with 71% of the vote, with Bop It (65%), personalised Beanie Babies (58%), hair braiding kits (42%) and Bratz Dolls (38%) also proving with children of the noughties.
