If your kids are fans of the popular show Octonauts Above & Beyond, why not look into some of the great Octonauts toys you can now get because your little one will love making up their own adventures! With fantastic storylines and different figures, plus lots of information for your child to learn too, it comes as no surprise that this has become a favourite educational and entertaining tv showwith kids and even better that along with the show there is a great selection of toys including play sets and plushies.

For those of you that haven’t come across Octonauts (yet), it is an ocean-set preschool cartoon that boosts kids' inquisitiveness about the world that we live in, by introducing them to some of the sea's diverse species. The show features exciting facts about sea animals in its stories, and the characters promote teamwork, companionship, friendship and being kind to others. With so much to learn and enjoy, it is popular with both kids and parents.

We all know that kids love role play toys, or snuggling up with their favourite cuddly, especially if that toy is a character from their favourite show. We also know that role play is great for creativity and imagination and will encourage your child to move away from the screen and play instead, and that is why an Octonauts play set is such a great addition to your little one's toy collection.

Best Octonauts toy playset

octonauts playset
Price: £63.26

Get your kids in flying mode, with this transforming HQ playset and removable mini ray. It magically changes from jet to mobile HQ which we think all little Octonauts fans will love. Plus it also includes 3 creatures, a Chinese sturgeon, panda, and giant salamander. One customer said her 7 year old Grandson even loves it and she thinks it was well worth the money. We like the lights and sounds which will entertain both younger and older children plus we were impressed with the opening ramp, moveable lift, and spinning engines. It is a seven piece set which is great, however, do bear in mind that it contains small pieces and so it might not be suitable for younger fans because of a risk of choking if they put any small pieces in their mouth. While it is a good quality toy and reviewers liked how durable it was, it will not withstand rough play and some customers said it is better for older children because it can be complicated for younger children to use and they can damage it by forcing levers. It is a great size for playing and we like that it is compatible with other play sets and figures so your child can grow their collection and expand their games.

Pros

  • Works with all figures, Gups and Terra Gups
  • Lots of lights and sounds

Cons

  • Choking Hazard - Toy contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3 years

At 82 minutes long, this is a lengthy tonie, great for older listeners but maybe a little too long for younger children. The tonie itself is beautifully crafted and features Kwazii standing with a treasure chest. One reviewer said it is "well worth the investment" adding that "it is a good length" and keeps her son occupied. What age is Octonauts aimed at?

Octonauts is show for preschoolers, so it is ideal for 3 and 4 year olds. That said, older children might enjoy some of the ocean facts and younger children will like the colours and sounds in each episode. Like all TV programmes or toys, they won't appeal to all children regardless of age, however, Octonauts is visually stimulating, has memorable characters and lots of information so it might appeal to a wider age group and will encourage imaginative play.

Remember, toys can be a great way to introduce your child to play and support their growth. The best toys for children are open-ended because they inspire creativity and help develop problem solving skills.

Can Octonauts toys go in water?

Like all toys, it is best to check the packaging to see if they are waterproof. There are Octonauts bath toys available, and if you are looking for something that your little one can splash around with, then these will be ideal.

Are Octonauts toys good for toddlers?

Yes, even if they are not a fan of the TV show, the toys are great for encouraging children's' thinking skills and supporting language and fine motor skills. Also, especially for Octonauts fans, the toys will really spark their imagination because they are both fun and educational toys and they can use the playlets or characters to recreate their favourite episodes, or even create their own story. Always check the age recommendation on the toys when giving to younger children to ensure there are no dangerous parts or that they are not too complicated and cause frustration.
