Just boil fresh water, measure formula powder, fill RapidCool with hot water, add formula powder and mix well. Simply wait for the digital display to show a green Nuby logo and dispense the feed into your sterilised baby bottle. To make a fresh feed while you're out, fill the insulated flask with freshly boiled water and you're ready to make a feed safely on the go.

Our mum tester said: "This product has saved me loads of money! When out and about it can be a bit of a nightmare getting flask water to the right temperature or spending loads on pre-made bottles. Those days are thankfully in the past. This has saved me so much time and made life so easy to have Rapid bottles made in a near enough instant. I tried this product on a mini getaway, I usually have a prep machine and these RapidCools give it a run for its money."

Gold Winner for Best Travel Product Over £30 at the M&B Awards 2023

Keep the sun out of your little one’s eyes while letting the air in with Car Shades. Unlike standard window shades, these are tailor-made to specifically fit the make and model of your vehicle so you can still open all your windows. They’re a great alternative to window tints, offering UV protection and anti-glare while keeping kids cool and blocking out bugs.

One mum said: "A fantastic product! It did the job required, it kept the sun off my daughter's face, from all angles, as it covered the back passenger windows and rearview window. It fit my car perfectly and I didn't really notice that the screens had been fitted. They blended into the car, plain black, so if you are after patterns on your screen for the kids, this is not for you. You can still open your windows and boot, depending where you have the Car Shades product fitted, with no need to take the screens off or adjust them."

Designed to fold down at a click of a button to fit compactly into the boot of your car or even an overhead bin on a plane, this travel-friendly trike is loved by both tots and parents. It’ll grow with your child, with a parent-controlled mode, a push mode, tricycle mode and bike mode so it can be used on multiple trips throughout toddlerhood.

One mum said: "This is hands down the best trike I have owed. It is so quick and easy to fold and unfold and is very practical to take out with you on holiday or for a day trip because it folds down so small. My child loved this trike as she was able to hold on to the handlebars and pretend she was driving it even though I was steering. It is super easy to steer and is just like pushing a pushchair. Very sturdy wheels which makes getting up and down kerbs very easy."

At only 6.7kg, which is over 30 per cent less heavy than most full-size travel cots, the Graco FoldLite is sure to lighten your overall load wherever you go. It can be folded in two ways: one designed for those times you need to quickly pop your cot up and down and another for putting it away in between trips. It comes with two wheels and a carry case for easy manoeuvrability.

One mum said: "The cot is very easy to put together. The cot unfolds and just clicks together, only two of the sides need to click together due to the way it is folded which makes putting the cot up and down much easier and quicker. We have now replaced the travel cot at my mum's house with this one as it is a lot easier and quicker for her to use."

Looking for a changing bag that's stylish, practical and suitable for putting into overhead spaces on planes and trains? This one from Storksak ticks all the right boxes. It may have a hospital bag in the name but we think it works just as well as a changing bag. Best ride on suitcase

Both practical and fun, the Trunki is designed to be used as hand luggage for your tot but they can hop on it when they get bored of walking through an airport and be towed around instead. The capacity is 18 litres inside so plenty of room for packing clothes, toys and teddies.

Review: "I bought this for my 3 yr. old great niece and she loves it. The colour is beautiful and it's not only functional it's great fun for them sitting on the Trunki and racing up and down on the wheels."

Pros

  • Comes in a variety of different colours and prints

Cons

  • Not designed to be ridden by children under three

Best travel stroller

It has a lie-flat seat and a one-handed recline so you can easily move your little one from sitting down to lying down. The UPF 50+ hood will keep them shaded from the heat so it's perfect for sunny holidays.

Review: "Is the best decision to purchase this stroller. Great for travel"

Best travel cot

One for travelling closer to home or somewhere in the UK. This contemporary travel cot can be used from the newborn stage all the way through to toddlerhood and doubles as a play space when your little one isn't in the land of nod.

Pros

  • Looks stylish, padded edges

Cons

Best travel booster seat

Always have a portable booster seat to hand wherever you're going on your travels with this backpack-turned-car seat. It's ideal for use in taxis or other transfers that may not have a car seat available when you arrive at your destination, plus it can fit in plenty of toys and snacks to keep your little one happy.

Review: "I bought this for a Ryanair flight to Italy for my boy who is 3.5 years and weight just over 15kg. It fits under the seat on the plane and we were able to put my son's toys and book in it. It doesn't slide and was really easy and quick to use, ideal for travelling on short car and taxi rides. I wouln't use it for long journeys though, it doesn't have a back or head-rest so not ideal to nap in. It complies with EU and UK regulations and made travelling with a young child a much more relaxed experience."

  • Eight-litre capacity as a backpack, hard plastic shell for the seat part

Cons

  • As a group 2-3 car seat, it is not designed for use by children under three years

Suitable for newborns all the way to 12 months old, the fabric is soft and breathable and comes with a detached front section that you can lift out when your bubba is snoozing.

Review: "I really liked this baby carrier. I have been using it for about two months now and baby loves it. I find it easy to wear the carrier then even easier to move the baby in and out of the carrier. I like the side clips that holds the baby pouch into position as they appear sturdy yet it is easy to clip them on and off. Most importantly the back support in this carrier is excellent. I used it whilst travelling and had no issues with back pain or strain after long use. Overall I highly recommend this product"

  • Lightweight, jersey fabric

Best travel products over £30 FAQs

How soon can you travel with a baby?

There are no legal rules or set regulations for how soon you can travel with your baby after they are born. When you're travelling by plane, most airlines require infants to be at least two weeks old before they can travel, but this will vary by airline - it's best to check this at the time of booking. You will also need to wait for their passport to arrive before you can go anywhere outside of the UK.
If you're heading to stay with family or on a UK staycation, you will need to bear in mind how long it will take for you to get to your destination. It is not recommended for babies to be in their car seats for more than two hours at a time. This is because when a baby is in a semi-upright position for a prolonged period of time it can result in restricted airflow to their lungs, causing breathing issues, and a strain on their developing spine. Make sure you take plenty of breaks and get your little one out of their car seat so they can have a change of position.
