At a glance:
Bizzi Growin POD Travel Crib is definitely a stand out in the market. This clever bag is two products in one – as a lightweight changing bag, it is very spacious, leaving room for all the baby essentials. As a travel cot, it makes life easy when visiting friends. We love this clever bag!
How did this product make your life easier?
Jennifer: The design is stylish and the item is extremely easy to use. The travel cot section folds out in a few seconds and the rods are easily inserted to make it very sturdy. This means a new mum (who has little time on her hands) can easily erect this in minutes. It is easily transported and takes up no more than a bag's room in the car or walking, so it can be taken anywhere. I have only used this at friends/ families homes but definitely would take it on weekends away or on holiday. It means I don't have to buy a big travel cot. It is also lightweight so don't have to worry about carrying something heavy (can be carried like a bag). It has two carry handles and an over-the-shoulder strap. I was also able to store items in it and just took them out when erecting the cot. I would purchase another and store it at the grandparents' home!
Esther: Designed as a travel sleeping pod, for night time and daytime naps, and a changing bag. It's intended to be quick to assemble and easy to use. This is how we found the product. I assembled it in a couple of minutes, it weighs as much as bag or two of sugar and the bag would easily fit in amongst other items in a packed car. When assembled, the sleeping pod is a reasonable size, probably usable up to 4-6 months (unless your baby is rolling lots). We used the pod whilst away for the weekend and found it very useful, as we already had a travel cot packed for our older child and couldn’t have fitted a second in the car. It also works well to have a place to put the baby down in that is designated as a ‘baby space’ there are many small bodies running around. The bag is useful purely as a large changing or weekend bag after the cot element is outgrown.
Nicola: This product is revolutionary for the birth to 6-month baby category. It is a one-stop-shop for mummies, including a changing bag and travel crib all in one. it is extremely lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, you do need two hands to turn the changing part into a crib but it very easy and my baby slept soundly in it. I would recommend it for anyone visiting friends or family. I am always conscious of the fact that my baby has gone from a car seat to lots of cuddles and it is important that they lay on their back for some parts of the day. This travel crib prevented me needing to bring a separate item with me as it is an all in one. I wish I had know about this from when my baby was born rather than when she was 4 months!
Would you recommend this to other mums?
Kathryn: I probably wouldn’t recommend it as I didn’t really have much use for it with items we already had. I like the concept, however, as a changing bag it is very bulky so I wouldn’t take it out like that on its own. The mattress was rather thin, our daughter is a very good sleeper and did sleep ok in it, but she wasn’t as settled as in the carrycot of the crib. I also wasn’t overly keen on using the mattress as a changing mat then using it to sleep on. I wouldn’t buy it over a travel cot as you would get little use from it after about 4/5 months.
Nicola: I would recommend this product to a new mum, it is extremely good value for money. I would suggest it is targeted from birth as I don't think a baby older than 6 months would be able to use the travel crib part, which would mean you just have a bulky changing bag. It is very easy to put together and take apart, it is incredibly clever and uses poles, like a tent, to keep the sides up. A really great invention. The changing mat which doubles as a mattress is extremely well padded and luxurious. It was wiped clean and the travel crib sides were mesh which meant I never worried about my baby's airflow.
Yeeon: I would highly recommend the pod to my friends and fellow parents as it is very convenient and easy to use. It made travelling with our new baby less stressful as both the travel cot and changing essentials were in one place when packing. This also saved a lot of space as we also have a toddler. The product also seemed to be made of good quality materials so I believe it would be durable.
Would you choose this product to win?
Lisa: The unique, compact, multi-purpose nature of this product makes it a definite winner in my eyes. The product is such good value for money and being able to carry such a stylish item as an everyday changing bag and then easily convert it to a sturdy crib for short naps and even overnight, really makes it stand out for me.
Stacey Yvonne: As far as I am aware, there's nothing else like this on the market, making it, to me, unique. It's something that you don't think about until it's presented to you and you realise just how much easier it makes your life. The theory and practicality of it make it a product worth sharing. Having a travel cot that's not one metre long, foldable and solid makes it easier for visits. Again, it is only a short time-based product until the baby is sitting up and mobile.
Isabelle: I would choose this product not only because it looks good but because it has been so useful to us as a family. I live away from my family so when we go to visit it's nice that I don't have to worry about what the little one will sleep in or if I will have room to take it all with me. However, this was no problem.
What changes would you make to this product?
Anjali: The ppearance and the colour. I appreciate stylish products. This is a very superficial improvement but if I was purchasing this - the factor that would hold me back would be how it looks - the grey and gloomy appearance does not do justice to the great functionality of this bag. However I do appreciate that simply for design - to be able to incorporate the 'cot' aspect - some of the appearance can not be altered.
Esther: The rucksack straps that are zipped away when not in use would make the bag more useful as a changing/weekend bag. Perhaps a few more internal pockets to divide up the contents, because the internal space was fairly large and items could be tricky to find when the bag is full. A washable removable mattress cover for little accidents, we used a pillowcase, but it would be helpful if a small fitted cover was included.
Isabelle: I honestly wouldn't need to change anything with this product. It has been so practical and useful and fulfilled everything that I would require and look for. I would have no problem recommending this product to other mothers or future mothers to be. I would be happy to pay the price for this product as it really was good.
