At a glance:

Our panel of mum testers felt safer with these Buggi Lights. They are extremely bright, have a brilliant battery life and are waterproof too. We cannot fault them!

What they say:

“Keep both buggy and baby safe with the Red Ladybird Buggi Lights. Perfect for grey days or after dark, these lights will keep your pram or pushchair bright and visible from up to 300 metres away in the dark. Each adorable Red Ladybird Buggi Light contains 2x CR2032 coin batteries which last more than 150 hours if left on constantly. Each box contains a white LED light to face forward and a red LED light to face back. With a stretchy silicon loop which fits any sized bar, it’ll only take a few seconds to make sure your baby’s buggy is safe and seen whenever you go out.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would absolutely recommend the Buggi lights to all my friends and fellow mums. They are very cute and my little girl loved the little lady birds being attached to the side of her pram. They are also an invaluable safety feature for any mum or dad to have. They have a few different settings, so they can flash slowly, quickly or just be on continuously. As there are two in a pack, I had one each side.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product made my life easier as a mum as it made me feel significantly safer when walking my dog with baby in tow, as it was beginning to get dark outside. The lights are extremely bright and would make anyone notice you, whether you were in a car or a pedestrian. They were incredibly easy to secure to the pram due to their rubber fastening. They also made me feel safer, in case of emergency.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would absolutely choose the Buggi lights over all other competing products. They are aesthetically pleasing, the lady birds are very cute and can be used for boys or girls as they are gender neutral. They are very stretchy and feel strong – after a lot of use they have shown no signs of wear whatsoever. The battery life seems fantastic as well. They are fantastic in my opinion and when the winter nights hit, I can't imagine not having them!

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing about the product, it would possibly be the packaging. Although it beautiful to look at, I feel it was a waste of paper. When they arrived, they were in a cardboard box, then wrapped in red tissue (with a chocolate lady bird on top - AMAZING) and then in another box, with more cardboard holding them in place. Although it looked fancy it wasn't very good for the environment. That is the only thing I would fault, this product is brilliant.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes I would recommend Buggi Lights to anyone. They are very lightweight and easy to attach and detach from the pram. They look cute, as they are little lady birds, and come in a selection of colours. The lights are very bright so you can easily be seen and also have a few different settings.

How did this product make your life easier?

I walk to the shops with the pram and it makes me feel so much safer knowing traffic can see me clearly, thanks to these lights. We also attach the lights to our bag when we are walking without a pram so we can be seen, especially now the winter nights are coming.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes I would choose this product. The price is affordable and good value for money and they have a selection of colours – my kids love them. The other pram lights I have seen are very basic looking and expensive. I think this product should win a Mother and Baby award as it product stands out because it is bright and colourful!

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing, it would be to make the lights a bit larger so they can be attached to other things like bags or a rucksack. Also maybe it could come with a portable travel case? Otherwise I love these lights!

Tested by mum Tiffiny Smith for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend the product to a fellow mum because I think these lights make going out in the evening or bad weather safer for you and your children. I loved how small they were and they fitted onto my pushchair nicely. Also, they are waterproof which is amazing because it means they are suitable for any British weather!

How did this product make your life easier?

This product has made my life easier as a mum, by making it safe for me to use my pushchair at night. Before receiving this product I was wary about taking my pushchair out at night, due to living on a very busy main road. However, I feel safer now with the Buggi Lights. I even tested them out on my three-year-old’s scooter and they worked so well as she was able to see where she was going and avoid obstacles in her path.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would definitely choose this product over the others on the market and will be going to buy some more so my daughter can have her own set on her scooter. The design of the ladybug makes the product stand out from the rest on the market and also makes it very child friendly! The fact it also comes in different colours means you can choose one suited to you, which is another great factor.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing about the Buggi Lights, I would say perhaps a different animal option as well? I feel that more children would like the product if there were different animals such as cats, dogs etc. Apart from this, I would not change the product at all!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

All of the mums that have seen this product on my pram have loved it and asked me where it was from! It really does sell itself as it is such a brilliant idea. As a mum, safety is the most important thing on your mind and this product is perfect. I also love the design, it’s so fun!

How did this product make your life easier?

It definitely makes life easier as a mum as it is a product that helps with keeping your child safe. I found it especially helpful when we were in a small town abroad, where there was a lack of pavements when walking home. As it was getting dark, these lights made a real difference to our visibility on the roads.

Would you choose this product to win?

Totally! It is so fun. The ladybirds make you smile when you glance down at them on the pram and of course, the lights keep us safe, so I really can’t fault this product.

What changes would you make to this product?

It was fab! I would change absolutely nothing!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I have lots of friends with children of primary school age who would love this product for the school run and winter evenings. By attaching the lights to your buggy, your child or toddler can run off and play and always be able to see where you are.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product is perfect for school runs and also on holiday in the countryside, when there are not many lights on the road. I feel much safer using this product when walking on my own with my child.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would definitely pick this product because of the fantastic design. The ladybirds are cute, the price is perfect and I cannot find any fault. My husband and I were both so surprised at how bright the lights were, we weren't expecting that at all.

What changes would you make to this product?

I am more than happy with every aspect of this product. The design is suitable for boys and girls, the safety aspect of it is so useful and the lights shine bright!
