At a glance:

Our panel of mum testers were all amazed by how easy it was to set up the SpaceCot Alfa, with no fiddly bits involved, let alone nuts and bolts. The mattress is super-soft and cradles baby in his own little cocoon, supported by the padding and able to see out through the mesh material in the sides. Best of all, the cot is quite large and will therefore last a long time.

What they say:

"The Innovative Award Winning SpaceCot Alpha is the travel cot that unfolds as quickly as its brochure! The unique design functionality means that the SpaceCot can be opened in just 1 second and closed in 3 seconds making it Quick and Hassle Free and easy on the back as there is no bending down. The patented safety lock works safely and beautifully for protecting your baby. The SpaceCot comes with a second upper (bassinette) layer for babies up to 6 months old as well as a foldable, premium, supersoft, integrated mattress. The fabric is removable, washable and eco-friendly."

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this as it is fantastic for taking on holiday. It fits perfectly in the back of the car or in a large suitcase. In terms of ease of use, it literally just unfolded without any hassle or the need for screwdrivers or lengthy instructions. Throughout summer, I could use it to put the baby down for naps while I played with the toddler and it was brilliant.

How did this product make your life easier?

I found the item was really easy to store which made life easier and it came in a small flat bag that was easy to keep in a cupboard or behind the sofa. It was also unbelievably easy to unfold and to put away again afterwards. If your living room is like mine, space is always an issue with toys everywhere, so you need things that can be hidden away until needed. This does the trick!

Would you choose this product to win?

I find it a lot easier than other travel cots I have used and would certainly pick this one above the one we have. The small baby insert is brilliant as it saves your back when lowering a tiny baby into the cot. My baby was so comfy and slept for hours in this cot. Amazing!

What changes would you make to this product?

When the cot was first assembled, my husband was concerned about the newborn insert not being able to hold the baby's weight as it was attached using Velcro. However, we tried it while standing next to the cot and it didn't move an inch. It was so secure, I don't know why we ever doubted it. The cot design is perfect and I’m glad we had the opportunity to test the item. I would definitely recommend.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would most definitely recommend this product to fellow mums, I'm hopeless at putting things together and it took me ages to put travel cots up and down previously. But this product was genuinely so simple to fold up and down and I didn't feel like it was going to break. The design is great, spacious but compact, and the mattress looks so much more comfortable than your average travel cot. It ticks all the boxes for me - stylish but extremely practical.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product makes life so much easier when we take baby to her grandparents and especially when we go away and stay in a hotel. My daughter won’t sleep in a hotel provided cot as she isn’t comfortable, so this SpaceCot has been a lifesaver!

Would you choose this product to win?

I have never liked travel cots, they just don’t look comfortable, but the SpaceCot has really changed my mind and I most definitely would have bought this if I had known about it before. Everything about it is brilliant, the mattress is great and I know longer feel guilty putting my daughter in a travel cot when we go away!

What changes would you make to this product?

I cannot find fault in this excellent product.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product ten times over if I could! The way it just glides up once the bag is open is truly amazing. I love how it saves space when you store it away but still folds out to be really large for your child. The mattress is brilliantly soft - much better than the hard, thin mattresses on other cots! It's so lightweight and easy for any family member to use. My mum loved it!

How did this product make your life easier?

I can't even explain my amazement when I saw how easy this was to put up. I opened it with my mum and it went up within seconds, whilst I was holding my daughter and so only had one free hand! It is the easiest product to set up that I have ever come across.

Would you choose this product to win?

Absolutely – this is the best travel cot I have ever seen. Compared with the other bulky ones that are available, this is lightweight and simple to use in every way. It’s incredible.

What changes would you make to this product?

I would not change one thing about the SpaceCot, it is absolutely amazing in every way!

Would you recommend this to other mums?

This product is very easy to assemble, even without the instructions. The build is stable and sturdy and the cot has rubber feet which keep it in place. Baby finds this product very comfortable and the mattress provides solid support. Due to its mobility, this cot makes life easier both and in and out of the house, I highly recommend it!

How did this product make your life easier?

The SpaceCot was very versatile, with two options of bed levels dependent on the age of your child. You could place them higher up if they were small, or place them down at the base of the cot when they were older. The mesh sides provide light and visibility for baby to see out and not feel excluded in the room. I like how easy it is to fold up and it can be moved very easily between rooms. I would use it in the house and also on holiday as it is so compact, it can fit in the car or in your suitcase when travelling.

Would you choose this product to win?

Even though the design and concept of the cot is very good, I would not necessarily choose this product over others as I find it’s quite heavy to carry. It is also quite large for fitting in the boot of a car. It would also be nice to have more colour options.

What changes would you make to this product?

The carry bag for the cot appears a little flimsy and the handles are not the best for placing on your shoulder whilst carrying baby, but overall the product is great.
