Testing Annabel Karmel's Frozen Kids' Meals Range

Annabel Karmel's Frozen Kids' Meals Ranget was reviewed by our parent testers for the Mother&Baby awards 2025, read on to find out what our testers, and their little ones, thought of the Annabel Karmel Frozen Kids' Meals Range.

On first impression, our parent testers and their tots loved the brightly coloured packaging of this food range, and it caught their child's attention instantly. "I’m a graphic designer so I was really able to appreciate the work gone into the presentation of the products." Commented one parent. They stored away in the freezer easily, not taking up too much space.

When heating up the meals, our testers found the instructions easy to follow and loved the fact they could heat up easily in a matter of minutes in the microwave. "I really liked that the product could be microwaved or oven cooked so that if in a rush, it was only 5 minutes in the microwave and 1 minute standing." Commented one impressed mum. "I was also really pleased that when I did microwave the product, it didn't take away any flavour or integrity of the food." She continued.

Our parent testers were also impressed with the generous portion size considering the price and how healthy the meals were. They particularly loved that they had low salt, no artificial colours or preservatives and were 1 of their 5 a day. Some parents of older children however did find themselves bulking up the meals a bit with some extra vegetables on the side and some parents also decided to add their own spices to boost the flavour a little.

While our little testers loved them, some parents did find it difficult to find all of the meals available in their local supermarket, with one mum saying, "my only real issue was the supermarkets didn't stock all of the items in the range, which is a pity as I wanted to try these, and will do when I find them in another supermarket on my travels, as my children really enjoyed them."

Overall, parents and their little testers loved these meals for those evenings where you're short on time. Being able to pop a healthy and nutritious meal into the microwave to cook was something our testers loved, they just hope that they'll be available in more supermarkets soon!
