At a glance:

These super-affordable little snacks are amazing! Wave goodbye to those messy orange fingers that ruin your pushchair, these Organic Animal Puffs are made without food colouring. They don’t have a re-sealable sticker or packet, so if you’ve got a particularly fussy eater, it might be worth carrying them in a Tupperware to keep them fresh.

What they say:

“Our lion puffs are lovingly made using only the scrummiest ingredients. And because they're that little bit bigger and that little bit crunchier, they're just perfect for your learning little one to explore.”

Would you recommend this to other mums?

My son is a very fussy eater but as soon as I showed him the packaging he wanted them and loved them. The puffs are animal shapes and he really enjoyed having a look at them before eating, they are a great size for tiny hands.

How did this product make your life easier?

It doesn’t really make my life easier but overall, they are fantastic, my son really enjoyed them and I would highly recommend them as they taste great.

Would you choose this product to win?

Yes definitely, the design of the packets and puffs are fantastic as some brands don’t really stand out whereas these would catch my eye in a supermarket aisle and my son loved the colours!

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing I would change is to be able to wrap them back up to preserve their freshness. But the price of £1.50 for four bags is great – everything about them is fantastic!

Tested by mum Kerry James for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this product as I believe that it is good value for money, the product is organic and this point alone makes the pricing very reasonable. I think they are ideal for when you are out and about, as they are the perfect snack and your child won't be covered in discolouration from the puffs like some other products I have previously used.

How did this product make your life easier?

This product is easily accessible in local Asda stores and the size of the packet is perfect to keep in a bag for when you are on the go. They do not stain clothing or your child like other products I have previously tried. My daughter loved them, I think because they are different shapes she loved guessing what animals they were.

Would you choose this product to win?

I think that this product is really good value for money especially as it is organic. The different flavours are nice and the fact that they come in different shapes seemed to make my daughter engage and look at them before she ate them. I would be happy for this product to win as I think value for money compared to other organic snacks.

What changes would you make to this product?

I wouldn't change anything about this product – thank you Little Angels!

Tested by mum Roxanne Murfitt for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I would recommend this snack to other mums because it is so simple and requires very little thought. They're ideal for a picnic or after swimming snack and they stay really fresh in the packets. The shapes of the puffs were a real hit with my son. The main reason I'd recommend it is that they contain no added salt, sugar or colours which is important when planning your child's meals.

How did this product make your life easier?

As a busy mum of a one year old, the snacks are fantastic as a grab and go. They are individually wrapped in six packs, meaning that on a busy day I just grab a pack. The fact that they don't contain any nasties is great as it means I don't have to think too much about what my son is consuming as they are made from natural ingredients.

Would you choose this product to win?

I would choose this product above our usual now. One reason is because it contains none of the sugars and salts that a usual packet of crisps contains, but they must taste just as nice as my son did not hesitate eating the whole pack! It is also really competitive price wise which would encourage me to purchase again. The packaging is bright and the shapes of the animals really made my son smile.

What changes would you make to this product?

If I could change one thing about this product it would be that I feel a re-seal option would be beneficial. My son doesn't always want to eat a whole packet at a time and it seems a bit waste to throw them away. However, if left they do go a little bit soft so lose their appeal.

Tested by mum Michelle Roe for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Yes I would. I loved the fact each flavour is a different shaped animal and a good size for a little person to hold. They melt in the mouth easy so not a choking hazard. They cause little mess, but a lot of fun and enjoyment for your little one to play with and they are well priced at £1.50 for a pack of four.

How did this product make your life easier?

As a first-time mum, I’m constantly buying new snack products for my little man to try, but I normally don't buy own brand food. I was taken back by the flavour and design of the Little Angels Organic Animal Puffs and my little man loved them, eating the whole pack for the first time! Each flavour is packed with enough taste for a little one to enjoy – for a snack on the go, this is perfect to have handy in your bag to dish out.

Would you choose this product to win?

I do feel this product should win overall due to the flavour, design & price point. For an own-brand product, I’m taken aback by the quality of everything. When I buy snack products for my little one usually, some brands are over £1.50 just for one bag! With these you pay £1.50 and get four, worth every penny!

What changes would you make to this product?

The only one thing I would change is to sell multi-packs and with more bags in one go. I would find this a real help as my baby likes to try different flavours and variety all the time. Overall, the product meets everything I feel my baby needs from a snack and I will definitely promote the product to my friends and family.

Tested by mum Helen Hutt for the Mother & Baby awards 2018:

Would you recommend this to other mums?

I'd recommend the Little Angels Organic Animal Puffs to fellow mums mainly because of the great taste and variety of flavours. It's very clever that each flavour is a different animal and surprising no other brands seem to have thought to be shaped like animals, as they're immediately more attractive to babies that way.

How did this product make your life easier?

The Organic Animal Puffs make my life easier simply because they're my son's favourite snack and so snack time is significantly quicker! They also come off clothing and bibs more easily than other snacks that can be very sticky and then harden, and have too much food colouring.

Would you choose this product to win?

This is now my favourite brand of snacks for my baby – friends and I go to Asda specifically to get these Animal Puffs! They're the only brand I've seen that come in multiple small bags within a big pack. The big pack is the same price as a single bigger pack by another brand but much more convenient.

What changes would you make to this product?

The only thing I would change about the Organic Animal Puffs is the ability to reseal the packet. Although they're in convenient small packets, there's still more than one portion within and so I have to store mine in a little Tupperware. This is really a very small point though - they're pretty much the perfect snack.
