Piccolo Cooking Range at a glance

Inspired by the Piccolo's founder and their Mediterranean upbringing, the Piccolo Cooking Range was developed to help take the pressure off parents cooking at home for their little ones. The organic baby pastas, sauces and stock cubes place the emphasis on easier home-cooking. With the help of the in-house nutritionist, all the dishes are family inspired, all natural recipes and are flavoursome and packed full of quality, organic ingredients, while also being free from gluten, and palm oil. In fact, Piccolo's stock cubes are the only palm oil free and low salt option available in the UK.

How did this product make your life easier?

Siobhan: This Piccolo Cooking Range product has made my life so much easier and I will definitely be buying some more. The recipes on the card are so easy to follow and they taste delicious but the main thing about it is it cuts your prep time by so much which is something all mums need - extra time with our little ones! If you're looking for a product to help save time this is the one!

Lily: The Piccolo cooking range is extremely quick and easy to use. I was particularly impressed with the risottos, as they are so quick to make (a homemade one would take much longer!) All you need to do is add boiling water and simmer for 15 mins. And even though it is so quick to make, it still tastes very good, even without any salt added. My little one loved it!

Jasmine: All Picolo products are super easy to use. It’s fantastic to know the ready to use products are in the cupboard ready to use. If we’re going out for the day I can grab some Picolo products in the morning and it takes no more than 10 minutes to make a days worth of food to take with us for our little man.

Would you recommend this to other mums?

Jasmine: I would recommend this Piccolo Cooking Range to a fellow mum as it is fantastic to know you have grab and ready to cook nutritional products in the cupboard ready for your baby. Life with a baby is unpredictable so it’s great to know that even after the most challenging days you can still provide your baby with a lovingly home cooked meal with the help of Piccolo.

Zoe: I would recommend the sauces and the risotto as my baby really enjoyed eating them - especially the pasta sauces - and they're a really straight forward option if you don't have the time to cook. I usually make food for my baby from scratch to make sure that there isn't sugar and salt, so the fact that the piccolo foods also don't have added sugar and salt was really good. They looked high quality and used simple ingredients so it was much better than using normal pre-packaged food.

Lily: Absolutely! This product is great for any mum who doesn't have too much time on their hands. It is very quick to make, tastes amazing for little babies and doesn't have any nasty ingredients in them! The only downfall of this product is that it is a little pricey, however I have not yet found a similar option for cheaper yet.

Would you choose this product to win?

Courtney: I honestly believe piccolo has a high shot of winning the award as it’s such a well branded company. My little boy loves his meals that I can prepare from piccolo products. I find the branding to be of high quality, it’s bold but not too in your face. Knowing that all the food is organic too is an added bonus!

Siobhan: This is definitely one of the winners in my opinion. It's ease of use is very good and has different flavours to the others on the market (for example the pumpkin risotto sauce). Another I really like is the options for different methods/recipes to use with some of the sauces. They even give a sample recipe for you to try.

What changes would you make to this product?

Siobhan: One thing I would change is their advertisement of the product. When I received these I realised I'd never actually heard of them before and wish I'd have known about them with my first born child. I will definitely be buying some more now. Now I have 2 small mouths to feed my time is even more limited and it will make my life so much easier.

Katie: I feel it should tell you how much pasta to use with the pasta. There could be more in the pot for batch cooking as I’m sure most mothers are like me and like to make more to freeze for future meals. More flavours available particularly for allergies. My son has a dairy allergy therefore wasn’t able to cook the ones with cheese so it would be ideal to have a dairy free option to cater for him as I find most pre-made meals contain milk.

Courtney: Honestly there’s not much that I could change with these products. Maybe just making the sauces a bit more of a larger quantity as I think that would help with value for money. Another thing would be to try adding a few more different sauces etc but I can imagine that new products are already in the works!
