What we say:

If you usually prepare your baby’s food with the family meal, or already own a steamer and just want a quick way to blend small portions, this is ideal. There are two speed settings so you can produce purées and chunkier textures, and the pulse button gives you good control over the consistency. Excellent value too.

Tested by Caroline Kirk, mum to Sonny, six months, and Rowan, five years. She said:

Easy to clean and assemble, although the lid is a little tricky to put on. I blended steamed parsnips on the fastest of the two speed settings and it produced a smooth purée. It’s good if you’re preparing family meals and just want to blend a small portion for your baby. But if £20 was my budget, I’d rather spend it on a hand-held blender I could use for other things too.

Tested by Ramya Krishnamoorthy, mum to Niralya, eight months. She said:

Light and compact, if rather noisy. It’s good for the price. The speed control dial gives excellent variation – just a few pulses created mashed food with lumps, which is perfect for my child, who’s keen on trying thicker textures. This is great for preparing small portions of baby food, but it’s impractical for batch-cooking for the freezer.
