Would you recommend this to other mums?

Nichola: If you want to start your weaning journey with puree then the baby food pro is a good choice (if you're willing to spend the money). I can't compare it to others on the market but I love the fact you can do it all in one jug. It's all done at the touch of a button. I have also used it to make other things like breadcrumbs relatively easily. I have been unable to test out the bottle warmer because my bottles are too big (Tommee Tippee 260ml) which was a little disappointing as I would have said that was a standard size.

Jessica: Yes. I like that it's small, compact, multi-functional and cuts down on the number of items that I need in the kitchen. If it could somehow sterilise bottles that would be a dream! I didn't find the instruction manual as straightforward as I would have liked. I think simple diagrams or photos of the set up for each of the functions would be a big help.

Shreya: I would 100% recommend this product to other mums in the early stages of weaning. You can blend fruit/veg/meat to a puree or to a chunkier consistency as your baby grows. The 1L capacity of the blender is a great feature for making batches of baby food. It also included six free freezer pods (ie baby-sized Tupperware), which were very handy.

How did this product make your life easier?

Michelle: It is a great product. It is compact and has lots of different functions so only the one machine is needed to warm a bottle, steam food and blend it. It can also blend different consistencies so it is appropriate for all stages of weaning. I found this product great as I was able to make up a batch of food and freeze them in the pots that came with it. The pots were fabulous as when I took them out of the freezer, I pressed the bottom and the food popped straight out.

Carly: This product made a working mums life so much easier as I could use one gadget for everything I needed to wean my child. I would get home from work with my daughter and put all the produce in one place. The countdown timer on the side and the way it warmed bottles of milk was brilliant.

Denise: I like that I can do so much with one product. Rather than spend the extra money and waste work surface space, I have a bottle warmer, a steamer and a blender all-in-one. Unlike many baby products, it can go into the dishwasher to give you one less thing to wash up. I can use it to steam some fish and vegetables for the little one whilst preparing a different dinner for the grown-ups in the oven.

Would you choose this product to win?

Amy: I think this product should definitely win. I haven't seen anything similar on the market. As a first-time mum, the main feature that made this product stand out was that it was able to do everything; steam, cook, blend and warm, making those first weaning steps with my little one perfectly easy. The small containers that came with it were handy for storing bulk batches too!

Shiona: Yes, yes and yes again. I would most definitely choose the Vital baby BabyFood Pro over other products on the market. I think this product is amazing. Instead of having lots of different pots, pans and blenders on the go, taking up loads of space (and washing up), this does everything you need in one compact product.

Shreya: I definitely think this product should win, mainly for its multiple features, its ease of use and overall size capacity. Whilst the price of £99.99 is not cheap, I think it is good value for money and can see myself using it in the future for making sauces and chutneys so it is by no means a limited purchase. It looks nice on the kitchen counter and does not take up much space.

What changes would you make to this product?

Carly: I would make the lead slightly longer. My kitchen is a rather strange shape with weirdly placed plug sockets meaning I was unable to leave the appliance out permanently. I had to leave it in the cupboard and get it out when I needed it which became rather annoying.

Shreya: It would be nice to see this accompanied with a recipe book. If you go onto their website, they have a few suggested recipes for their other products. Other than that, I think it is an excellent product and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone considering making their own baby food.

Nichola: The bottle warmer. I think if the baby food pro is advertising itself as a bottle warmer then it should clearly state the maximum bottle size it will hold. I couldn't see anything on the box itself. I would say a 260ml bottle is the most common size used and the baby food pro has a maximum of 240ml.
